President Obama and Homosexuality

Homosexuals in the armed forces.

1/27/10 – President Obama asked the Congress to repeal the ban on homosexuals openly serving in the armed forces.

12/18/10-The U.S. Senate voted to end the military’s ban on openly gay people in the military. The House had done the same earlier. This effectively ended “Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell.”  Eight Republicans and independent  joined the Senate Democrats and Joe Lieberman of Connecticut (Independent). The bill passed 65-31.

7/22/11 – President Obama certified the repeal of DADT (Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell). Each member of the Joint Chiefs of Staff submitted a recommendation to Secretary of Defense Leon Panetta that the military was ready to end the ban.

12/23/11-First time a same-sex couple from the military chosen to kiss on return of the ship.

8/10/12-  Army Colonel Tammy Smith (49) was promoted to brigadier general Friday August. General Tammy Smith  was  the first general officer to come out while serving.  Tammy Smith received her stars from her wife Tracey Hepner in a private ceremony at the Women’s Memorial at Arlington National Cemetery.

9/20/12 – DODT is officially repealed.

President Obama’s statement 9/20/12 on the repeal of Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell

“Today, the discriminatory law known as ‘Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell’ is finally and formally repealed. As of today, patriotic Americans in uniform will no longer have to lie about who they are in order to serve the country they love.

“As of today, our armed forces will no longer lose the extraordinary skills and combat experience of so many gay and lesbian service members. And today, as Commander in Chief, I want those who were discharged under this law to know that your country deeply values your service.

“I was proud to sign the Repeal Act into law last December because I knew that it would enhance our national security, increase our military readiness, and bring us closer to the principles of equality and fairness that define us as Americans.

“Today’s achievement is a tribute to all the patriots who fought and marched for change; to Members of Congress, from both parties, who voted for repeal; to our civilian and military leaders who ensured a smooth transition; and to the professionalism of our men and women in uniform who showed that they were ready to move forward together, as one team, to meet the missions we ask of them.

“For more than two centuries, we have worked to extend America’s promise to all our citizens. Our armed forces have been both a mirror and a catalyst of that progress, and our troops, including gays and lesbians, have given their lives to defend the freedoms and liberties that we cherish as Americans.

“Today, every American can be proud that we have taken another great step toward keeping our military the finest in the world and toward fulfilling our nation’s founding ideals.”

Social Implications of the Obama Administration’s new policy played out in the first open lesbian kiss.

The following is from the Associated Press 12/23/2011.

[ Navy tradition caught up with the repeal of the U.S. military’s ‘Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell’ rule when two women sailors became the first to share the coveted home-coming ‘first kiss’ on the pier.

Petty Officer 2nd Class Marissa Gaeta of California, descended from the USS Oak Hill after 80 days at sea and shared a kiss in the rain with her partner, Petty Officer 3rd Class Citlalic Snell of Los Angeles.

Navy officials said it was the first time on record that a same-sex couple was chosen to kiss first upon a ship’s return. Sailors and their loved ones bought $1 raffle tickets for the opportunity.

Their kiss is reminiscent of an iconic World War II photograph of a returning sailor in a clinch with a nurse in Times Square, New York, in 1945.

Gaeta said she bought $50 of tickets, a figure that she said pales in comparison to amounts that some other sailors and their loved ones had bought. ]

Homosexual Marriage

The Defense of Marriage Act was passed by Congress and signed by Bill Clinton 9/21/1996. It defined marriage as a union between one man and one woman. Clinton has since changed his mind.

February 2011 – The Obama Administration announced that it would cease defending the Defense of Marriage Act (DOMA). Attorney General Eric Holder sent a letter to House Speaker John Boehner saying, “the President and I have concluded that classifications based on sexual orientation warrant heightened scrutiny and that, as applied to same-sex couples legally married under state law, Section 3 of DOMA is unconstitutional.”

May 11, 2012 – Joe Biden, who voted for DOMA, suggested on Meet the Press that homosexual marriage was okay.

May 15 2012 – President Obama stated that homosexual couples should have the right to be married and called for the repeal of DOMA.

July 3, 2012  – The Obama administration asked the Supreme Court to settle the legal fight over a law that denies federal benefits to married gay couples. The Administration agreed with a lower court which overturned a part of DOMA, but it wanted the Supreme Court to review the case. The Administration would continue the ban on benefits until such time the Supreme Court made a decision.

This strategy was crafted after Barney Frank and others in the Congress expressed the view that there was not enough support by elected members of Congress to overturn DOMA. The  decision was then made to use the route through the courts. This strategy has become common place across the United States where ultra liberal notions find little support in the voting population.

Kevin Jennings,  Safe Schools Czar, Founder of GLSEN (Gay, Lesbian and Straight Education Network)

On May 19, 2009,  Kevin Jennings was appointed by President Obama as the nation’s Safe Schools Czar. Most individuals would assume that Mr. Jennings’ appointment had something to do with school safety.  Not the case.

The safety of which Mr. Jennings concerned himself with had to do with “creating safe schools for all lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender (LGBT) students.”  GLSEN was instrumental in forming Gay, Lesbian, Straight, Transgender (GLST) clubs in high schools across America. Today, there is slim chance of finding a public school anywhere that does not have a GLST club meeting in it.

The Office of Safe and Drug Free Schools (OSDFS) was created by the President George Bush Administration in 2002. According to its website, one of its primary functions is to “provide financial assistance for drug and violence prevention activities and activities that promote the health and well being of students in elementary and secondary schools, and institutions of higher education.”  Funding for this program was cut under the Obama Administration in favor of GLSEN (See the OSDFS archived explanation).

Kevin Jennings had his “coming out” during a chapel talk to the school community at Concord Academy in 1988. He helped establish the nation’s first Gay-Straight Alliance for students at  Concord.  He founded GLSEN in 1990. Since then he has pushed the homosexual agenda for students in our schools.  Jennings designed the model for GLST club activities for schools in Massachusetts, which has spread nationwide.

The following is quoted from the website Mass Resistance:

  • In 1993, Jennings designed the model for the Massachusetts Dept. of Education to push homosexuality in schools – which has now spread across the country. (See the newly released report.)

Packet given to kids at conference

includes oral sex instructions . . . and much more.

  • The “Little Black Book”  – Hard-core pornographic homosexual “how-to” booklet given to kids at high school during GLSEN event!  Includes how to “safely” perform degrading homosexual sex acts, and where to go to meet homosexuals.
  • 2009 – Jennings helps Harvard celebrate homosexual terrorist group “Act Up.” Contributes to offensive display of sexual perversion, child pornography, and anti-Catholic bigotry exhibit at Harvard University.
  • Jennings was a member of Act Up, a radical homosexual group profaned churches, vandalized homes and businesses, and disrupted public events. He also hosted candidate Barack Obama in his home.
  • Jennings is board president of “Tectonic Theater Project” – producer of the homosexual propaganda play “The Laramie Project” and other offensive plays.
  • Kevin Jennings: Radicalized at 1987 “Gay March on Washington.”  This event inspired Jennings to push the homosexual agenda in school.  There were violent demonstration in front of the US Supreme Court two days later.
  • Jennings’ 1995 “Framing the issue” speech – How the homosexual movement got into the Massachusetts schools.  Jennings revealed how the homosexual movement uses “safety” as a phony strategy to intimidate legislators and school officials.

Characteristic of the Obama Administration is the “in your face” style of approaching social and moral issues.  Going way beyond support for general goals of the homosexual agenda, President Obama has instituted procedures and appointed officials who will “fundamentally change America.”

Religion and Public Life

Georgetown University

April 14, 2009 – Obama spoke at Georgetown University in Gaston Hall, where Georgetown had complied with the request by the White House to cover all signs and symbols there. The gold IHS (First three letters of Greek for Jesus IHSOUS)  monogram  inscribed on the pediment of the stage where Obama spoke was covered by a black triangle of wood.

Ironically, Obama seemed to miss the theological implications of building a foundation on sand when he intoned: “There is a parable at the end of the Sermon on the Mount that tells a story of two men…‘the rain descended and the floods came, and the winds blew, and beat upon that house…it fell not: for it was founded upon a rock,’” Obama said.

“We cannot rebuild this economy on the same pile of sand,” he added. “We must build our house upon a rock.”

National Day of Prayer

Obama’s attitude toward the national day of Prayer has been ambivalent. Obama issued a declaration but no longer has an inter-faith gathering in the White House.
